Cecillia Hailey

Cecilia Hailey grew up in a home where education was central to daily life. With her mother and five aunts all working as teachers, she was surrounded by examples of dedication to learning and service to students. Inspired by their influence, she followed a similar path, building a career that combined strong academic preparation, leadership, and a genuine commitment to helping others succeed. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and Chemistry from Arizona State University, went on to complete her Master’s in Health Education and Advanced Schooling at the Graduate Institution at the University of Arizona, and also attended one year of medical school at Morehouse School of Medicine, giving her a well-rounded background in both science and health.

Over the years, Hailey has been recognized for her skill in teaching reading and her ability to design lesson plans that are both structured and effective. Many students have advanced their literacy skills under her guidance, while her curriculum designs have served as a practical resource for fellow educators. She has always focused on creating clear, purposeful plans that can be adapted to different learning needs.

Her career includes experience as a Science and Health Professor, where she worked on nutrition-related programs, healthy weight management, and stress control. She also taught online health education courses for nearly a decade to an international student audience. These courses emphasized public health, wellness, and preventive care and were built around evidence-based practices. She incorporated interactive assignments, discussions, and presentations to assess student understanding and used technology to make learning engaging and accessible for students from various backgrounds.

She has also held key leadership roles in education. While serving as an Assistant Principal in Roatan, Honduras, she gained firsthand experience managing academic programs in a multicultural setting. Later, as Dean of Education for a proprietary school, she oversaw curriculum planning and supported faculty development. In addition, she worked as an online English consultant for Roehampton Online University in London, teaching students across Asia. Her role focused on conversational fluency, grammar, and cultural communication. She created lesson plans tailored to different skill levels and age groups, using digital tools to encourage active learning and participation.

Cecillia Hailey’s fluency in English and Spanish has been an asset throughout her career, allowing her to connect with learners from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. She has consistently worked to improve curriculum quality, promote inclusive teaching methods, and support learning environments that are both practical and adaptable, whether in the classroom or online.

Beyond her professional life, she enjoys traveling, a passion that her father’s service may have influenced in the Air Force. She is an avid reader, rides motorcycles, and enjoys fishing. Staying active is a priority for her, and she participates in weight training and water aerobics. She loves animals, especially horses, and shares her home with a Great Dane named Muhammad Ali.

Hailey is also a member of the Screen Actors Guild American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, reflecting her connection to the entertainment field. She enjoys a mix of classic and contemporary television, including favorites such as The Andy Griffith Show, I Love Lucy, and The Munsters, as well as newer streaming series.

Her earlier years also show a pattern of leadership and achievement. At Manzano High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, she served as Senior Class President and was active in track and field, cheerleading, student politics, and theater. She was crowned Ms. Black Arizona in 1985-86 and established Ms. Arizona Day to honor the state’s culture and heritage. She also placed as first runner-up in Ms. Galaxy International, an event celebrating women worldwide.

Through her career in education, health, language instruction, and creative pursuits, Cecilia Hailey has built a life centered on learning, cultural exchange, and meaningful connections with people in many different parts of the world.
